  • Supply facts, dates/times, observations, complete error messages, history of the problem, and any change history.
  • Outline a clear description of the impact the problem is having to the server and any applications.
  • Outline the expectations of CIQUERY with regards to a solution for the problem
For troubleshooting specific SQL server problems , some common info to collect are:
  • SQL Server ERRORLOG(s)
  • Windows Application and System Event Log
  • Windows Performance Monitor Logs (System Monitor)
  • Results from sysprocesses and syslockinfo
  • SQLTrace of common events (BatchCompleted, RPCCompleted, Exceptions)
